Welcome to Jay's K'tchen, where passion meets tradition in every bite. I'm Jay, a Nigerian-Canadian entrepreneur who discovered that the kitchen I once avoided would become the heart of my dreams.

My culinary journey began unexpectedly during a high school food and nutrition class. What started as a required elective transformed into a revelation—cooking wasn't just a chore, but a beautiful blend of science, artistry, and creativity. The first time I prepared Efo Riro (Nigerian vegetable soup) for friends, watching their faces light up as the aroma filled the room, I knew I had found my calling.

While cooking sparked my interest, baking truly captured my heart. The precision, the magic of transforming simple ingredients into something extraordinary, and the joy on people's faces when they tasted my creations—this became my passion.

From Passion to Purpose

Jay's K'tchen officially launched in 2023 as a part-time venture, born from countless hours of experimentation and the encouragement of family and friends. What began with banana bread and chocolate chip lemon loaf has evolved into a thriving business that I now run full-time, serving the Calgary community with love and dedication.

One of my most memorable milestones was catering a friend's wedding for over 200 guests—a moment that tested my skills and confirmed my commitment to this craft. More recently, I had the incredible opportunity to prepare over 1,000 meat pies and puff puff for a single event, proving that dreams really do come true when paired with hard work.

Looking Forward

Jay's K'tchen is constantly evolving. We're currently working toward obtaining proper certifications and licenses, and I'm excited about plans for a food truck that will bring our delicious offerings directly to the Calgary community. I'm also working on getting our chin chin nutritionally tested and upgrading our packaging to better serve our growing family of customers.
